Two days ago, I took the 9 AM ferry from Corfu to Igoumenitsa. The ferry ride was about 1:30 hours and it was very scenic with the mountains on both sides.

I stayed at Hotel Astoria in Igoumenitsa, which is very close to the ferry terminal. I didn’t do much in town except for getting some meals. Igoumenitsa seems to be just a place for the ferry with nothing special about it.

The next morning, I went to the bus station and spent €68.20 for a bus ticket to Athens. The price included a €15 fee for the bicycle.

The bus ride was from 8:30 AM to about 4 PM. It was a long ride, but I enjoyed the beautiful mountain scenery while listened to some music.

Once I reached the bus station in Athens, I rode about two miles to Athens Hawks hostel. I was glad that I could store my bicycle in the basement of the hostel.

This hostel is a nice hostel. The rooms are clean and there’s a social area. I met another traveler named Rodrigo in the afternoon. He’s from Uruguay. We went to a Pakistani restaurant near the hostel for dinner then walked around the neighborhood for a little while. It seems I’m in a neighborhood full of immigrants.

I only booked for two nights at the hostel, most likely I will extend a few more nights at least. I need to acquire a cardboard bicycle box, but right now there’s a holiday in Greece. From the WhatsApp Europe Cycling group, I read that most bike shops in Athens are closed due to the holiday. I will have to wait a few days then contact the shops. Meanwhile, I plan to do laundry one last time and explore Athens.
